SDEA Supervisory Skill Certificate Program

The Supervisory Skills Certificate Program, offered since 1988, has been developed to help new managers and supervisors learn and apply good management principles in their work groups. Using a variety of proven instructional techniques, this twelve week course  builds the essential knowledge and skill that supervisors and managers must possess to be successful both in today’s workplace and in the future.

Discussion and exercises are geared for leaders in any stage of their careers – from the new supervisor who needs a basic foundation to the tenured manager who simply needs a refresher. SDEA welcomes hundreds of participants through this workshop series annually.

Every participant who satisfactorily completes the course will receive a personalized certificate.  Though good attendance is stressed, if a program participant is unable to attend one or several of the courses for a valid reason, they may make them up during the next semester.  Attendance to 10 of 12 courses is required to receive the certificate.

The course consists of 12 classes some of which are offered individually and some only as part of the bundled certificate program.
