Tickets are selling fast for August 23 San Diego Military Summit

Event is set for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Admiral Baker Clubhouse

This year’s San Diego Military Summit will bring together the military and business communities at Admiral Baker Clubhouse on Wednesday, August 23rd. The full day event will feature five panel discussions with influential industry leaders, dozens of exhibitors, and vital opportunities for networking and professional development.

The event will be kicked off with a welcoming address by Captain Dwight “Woody” Clemons, Chief of Staff for Navy Region Southwest. A 1996 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and Naval Aviator with over 2,600 flight hours and 650 carrier arrested landings, Captain Clemons will set the tone for the Summit, bringing his wealth of experience and leadership to inspire and motivate attendees.

Keynote will be delivered by Brett E. Crozier, Captain, USN, Retired. In 2020, as the Commanding Officer of the deployed aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) during the outbreak of the global pandemic, CAPT Crozier had a unique firsthand view, and experience, with leadership and decision making in a high stakes, high risk, high visibility, and highly contentious environment. Brett became an overnight globally known name for his efforts to care for his crew, under the most extreme circumstances, while facing unprecedented challenges and headwinds in all directions, culminating with his public relief of Command by then-Acting Secretary of the Navy, Thomas Modly. In a historic moment and remarkable display of gratitude, Crozier’s crew applauded and chanted for him during his removal from the ship. During his keynote address, Crozier will reflect on his experience and share his personal journey and insights which led to his bestselling book, Surf When You Can: Lessons in Life, Loyalty, and Leadership.

After listening to Clemons’ and Crozier’s inspiring speeches, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a valuable LinkedIn workshop hosted by Chris Thorne, a Navy veteran and the Chief Executive Officer of North San Diego Business Chamber. Throughout the interactive workshop, Thorne will demonstrate how attendees can leverage social media in their networking, personal branding, and overall online presence.
