The race to elect San Diego's local leaders is entering its final stretch.  As Election Day, Tuesday, November 8th, approaches, the Chamber is thrilled to host Virtual Candidate Conversations to connect candidates with the community.

This Conversation will focus on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 5 seat featuring the incumbent Supervisor Jim Desmond.  Tiffany Boyd-Hodgson was invited to attend, yet is unable to do so due to scheduling conflicts.

District 5 incumbent, Jim Desmond is a Navy Veteran, a 33 - year Delta Airlines Captain and served as Mayor of San Marcos for 12 years.  Desmond Graduated from San Diego State University with an engineering degree before starting a very successful local small business.  As Supervisor, Desmond opposed Sacramento's attempt at placing Sexually Violent Predators in neighborhoods.  He also played a crucial role in creating Community Centers to address Mental Health and Addiction.  He and his wife Kerri have been married for 36 years, live in Oceanside, and have two grown children.
